Glass grid (for asphalt pavement)

Saint-Gobain Adfors, which handles long glass fibers, manufactures grids for extending the life of pavement, which are made by weaving glass yarns and applying special coatings.

By giving tensile strength to the asphalt layer directly above, it becomes difficult to bend, delaying the appearance of reflection cracks arising from fatigue rising from the bottom of the pavement, cracks on the floor slab joints, and temperature cracks due to low temperatures.

Product examples
		GG100 It is the most widely used product in the world. Can be laid on new or leveled surfaces. With adhesive on the back side, large-scale construction can be done quickly and safely, and it is also recommended for sites where time constraints and construction accuracy are strict, such as highways and airports.

		CG100L This is a product with a non-woven fabric attached to the back of GG100. The non-woven fabric acts as a cushion layer, so it can be laid even on uneven surfaces such as cut surfaces and roadbeds. By spraying the emulsion before laying, the non-woven fabric is impregnated with the emulsion and the adhesion of the upper and lower layers can be maintained.

		Rapid This is a product that integrates GG100 and asphalt sheet. Since no emulsion is required during installation, there is no need to wait for decomposition, which contributes to shortening the overall construction time. In addition, it can be installed safely and quickly even in conditions where the sheet is prone to waving, such as in strong winds or on sloped sections.
